History of Mt Druitt Hospital
Mt Druitt Hospital was opened in September 1982 as a purpose built 200-bed facility. It was classified as a second schedule hospital under the care of the Catholic Archdiocese. It now operates under the governance of SWAHS but retains strong linkages with the Catholic Church.

Accommodation:
Single rooms are allocated on the basis of medical priority. If you are choosing your own doctor and request a single room there will be no extra charge providing you have taken out private health insurance to cover the cost of a single room. However, if you are insured for shared accommodation only and ask for a single room, you will have to pay the difference between the cost of shared and single accommodation. Should the need arise for a medical emergency you may be asked to relocate to alternative accommodation
