Welcome to the CIDM Public Health website. Our primary aims are to contribute to the protection of the public from infectious disease hazards and to improve prevention strategies, management and control of communicable diseases.
We are undertaking research to improve laboratory and epidemiological investigations of communicable diseases, the causative agents and their vectors. Sophisticated epidemiological tools that can accurately predict the behaviour and modes of transmission of microbial pathogens and identify sources are also being developed, along with education programmes.
