2001 Demographic Profiles Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Populations Western Sydney Area Health Service Supplement
This supplementary profile aims to provide additional information on selected demographic characteristics for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) populations in WSAHS. Data were derived from the customised 2001 Census data for the Consortium of Multicultural Health (same data source as the main profile-2001 Demographic Profiles for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Populations in Western Sydney Area Health Service). It can be read with the main report as a complementary profile or on its own.
Selected characteristics are presented in this profile by age group and local government area. Some are also by sex. Together, a total of 78 tables and 9 graphs are presented. The selection of characteristics and their cross tabulation (by birthplace, language spoken at home, age group or sex) is either at the request of multicultural health workers or authors' subjective view of needs and appropriateness. Due to space and resource limitations, data presented here are only for the top thirty countries of birth or languages spoken at home and in three broad age groups (0-24 years, 25-64 years and 65 years and over).
