The report provides a wide range of demographic and socioeconomic information from the 2001 Census at small geographic levels using maps to assist understanding and interpretation of information by area. It also updates health information, identifies patterns of health risk behaviour of residents, and examines levels of access to and use of health services by residents of the five LGAs of Auburn, Baulkham Hills, Blacktown, Holroyd and Parramatta.

The overall aim of the report is to identify and map the distribution of socioeconomic risk factors and selected health outcomes among the diverse population of Western Sydney so as to examine relationships between advantaged and disadvantaged populations with regard to determinants of health.
