This is the Home Page of the Imaging Departments of the Sydney West Area Health Service (SWAHS). The Hospitals of Sydney West Area Health Service (SWAHS) include Westmead, Blacktown, Mt. Druitt and Auburn Hospitals. The Imaging Departments of these hospitals provide Imaging services, Research, Education and Specialist scientific services not only to the population of Western Sydney, but also from all over New South Wales, and occasionally, interstate. Each Imaging Department in the SWAHS also provides dedicated staff and specialised imaging and diagnostic services, making SWAHS Imaging Departments an important and essential element to maintaining quality healthcare to the population. The Departmental staff are also active in the teaching of medical undergraduates in conjunction with the University of Sydney, post-graduates in other specialities, General Practitioners, and other Health Professionals by way of seminars, lectures and demonstrations. Education and research within the service and in conjunction with other medical organisations are an integral component of the every day functioning of the service. It is our dedication to these many and varied services that makes SWAHS Imaging Departments outstanding in forwarding healthcare to patients and promoting the education of our staff. Our longstanding commitment has enabled Imaging Departments to accumulate comprehensive and informative Film Libraries available to help improve and enhance the education of all medical practitioners (from within and outside SWAHS). The health needs of the NSW public is constantly changing and expanding in accordance with the changing size and growth of the population. As the needs of the population fluctuate or change, so the loyal dedication of theSWAHS Imaging Departments aims to change with it, in order that it may continue to satisfy the health needs of it's important population. |
