Hours of Service:	Both Blacktown and Mt Druitt libraries are open from 0830 - 1630 Monday to Friday The Library is NOT open on weekends or public holidays

Service Profile

The Clinical Library Service aims to provide for the staff of Blacktown-Mt Druitt Health and for the staff working in the Sydney West Area Health Service, effective, integrated, user friendly services which support education, research, evidence based patient care and continuing personal and professional development.

On both library sites considerable emphasis is placed on the role of networks to provide users with access to local resources, as well, as to a wide variety of remote systems. This is done via Spydus our WSAHS catalogue, CIAP, GRATISNET our link to resources held by healthcare libraries across Australia, AustHealth, Intranet and the World Wide Web. Library services are provided in close co-operation with other hospital libraries within the HeLOWS Network (Health Libraries of Western Sydney).

As well as meeting the immediate needs of research, learning and teaching we aim to provide you with information skills, which will be of value throughout your professional life.

Should you experience any difficulties or have suggestions for improving the services please do not hesitate to raise these with our staff - we are here to help and support you.

	Kathleen’s job involves all the administrative duties in running the Clinical Library Service. Kathleen also conducts literature searches and runs training courses and orientation sessions. Kathleen is mainly found at Blacktown Hospital and may be contacted for literature searches, recommendations for purchase and any other information services.

	Marie is the cross-campus librarian and shares her time between Blacktown and Mt Druitt. Marie is responsible for ordering and cataloguing of any library material ordered by BMDH. Marie also conducts training courses and specialises in providing assistance to our library users on locating information in our catalogue or on CIAP. Ext. 41637 or 48369.
