Services

CIAP (Clinical Information Access Program)

CIAP is a NSW Dept. of Health Program which supports a clinically focused web site that provides information resources to support clinical practice. Databases such as Medline, PsycINFO, Embase, CINAHL and Cochrane Library and some full text journals can be accessed on the intranet on
http://internal.health.nsw.gov.au:2001/
or
internet http://www.ciap.health.nsw.gov.au.
A password and ID are required in order to access the databases within CIAP. Please contact the Library with your staff details for access.

Online Literature Searches

Searches are conducted on local and overseas databases in the Health/Biological areas, eg HEAPS, AMI, Medline. Online searches are performed by the Library staff and there are charges involved.

SDI (Monthly Updates)

Monthly updates on particular topics can be arranged. Charges are involved with this service.

Inter-Library Loans

When a book or journal article is not held by the Library, arrangements can usually be made to obtain it from another Library. Charges are involved with this service.

Training

Workshops in the use of OVID databases such as Medline, PsycINFO, Evidence Based Medicine Review (EBMR) and Embase via CIAP are conducted by Library staff.

In addition, searching CINAHL on the new platform EBSCOhost (from January 2009) will also be included. This service is free to SWAHS staff. Please check at the Circulation desk for details or ring 98456262
