Emergency Medicine Senior Resident Medical Officer
Blacktown - Mt Druitt Hospitals
The Emergency Medicine Training is structured as an area-wide program based as Westmead Hospital, Aurburn, Blacktown and Mt. Druitt Hospitals. The Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) has accredited the four Emergency Departments for advanced training in Emergency Medicine. Blacktown and Mt. Druitt Hospitals are accredited for Paediatric Emergency Medicine. The department staff are committed to providing quality emergency care based on evidence based practice. The Emergency Medicine Training program for provisional trainees of ACEM includes a Primary Examination during SRMO year. When working alongside those doing Critical Care SRMO and Unstreamed SRMO rotations. Rotations external to the emergency department include medicine, anaesthetics and intensive care.
Essential Criteria:
- Eligible for registration with NSW Medical Board
- Two (2) years postgraduate hospital experience, some experience in emergency medicine
- Airway management skills, including bag & mask ventilation
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team
Desirable Criteria:
- Advanced life support skills including intubation
- Registered with ACEM as a provisional trainee
