Can I apply for more than one position?
Yes. You are required to submit separate applications for each position.
Is accommodation available on campus?
Nepean Hospital has very limited accommodation available for JMOs on a first come first served basis. Please contact Medical Administration for further information.
If I am moving to Sydney from interstate or overseas, does the hospital/Area Health Service pay relocation expenses?
No.
What if I am not an Australian citizen or permanent resident?
Applications are welcome from overseas residents who meet the minimum criteria for the advertised position, however, will be subject to immigration (Department of Immigration & Citizenship) and medical registration (NSW Medical Board) requirements.
When will I know if I have approval from the Department of Immigration & Citizenship?
Nomination applications are not lodged with DIAC until the successful applicant has been offered the position, and they have accepted the position. Once the nomination has been approved, and the applicant has submitted a full and complete visa application with DIAC, the estimated processing time is 6-8 weeks. This timeframe may vary in peak periods.
When will I know if I have approval for medical registration from the NSW Medical Board?
Applications are not lodged with the NSW Medical Board until the successful applicant has been offered the position, and they have accepted the position. Once the relevant documentation has been obtained, and the application lodged, the estimated processing time is 4-6 weeks. This timeframe may vary in peak periods.
