Scheme Anaesthetic Trainee - Accredited
Westmead Hospital
Westmead Anaesthesia Training Scheme is a large rotational program encompassing comprehensive anaesthetic training for all twelve modules of the new program of Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. This program encompasses all specialty requirements and involves rotations to a number of hospitals in Western Sydney and in rural New South Wales. There are comprehensive courses for the Primary and Second Part FANZCA and a strong educational ethic within the department. Registrars are encouraged to participate in our research program which often acts a basis for formal projects.
Applicants are sought for positions in several years of our training scheme.
The intent of the appointment process is to have approximately equal numbers in each of the training years and to allow mentorship of candidates throughout their training.
Essential Criteria:
- Eligible for registration with NSW Medical Board
- Minimum of three (3) years postgraduate experience & demonstrated interest in Anaesthesia as a career for Year 1 entry
- Primary Fellowship examination in both physiology and pharmacology - if applying for Year 3 and above
- Completed modules 1-10 AND to have sat for the Second Part FANZCA examination - if applying for Year 5
