In the Spirit of God, we in Pastoral Care offer a supportive presence to people in times of uncertainty and difficulty. Our aim is to encourage patients, their significant others, and staff to express their spiritual and emotional needs, respecting the dignity, values, and beliefs of each person.

Sensitive to the dignity of all persons, the care we offer is respectful of the unique integrity of each person and their personal religious or philosophical beliefs. Accordingly, in a spirit of acceptance, we come with time to listen, believing that each person/s own belief system enables them to grow in spiritual awareness.

We recognise that people admitted to hospital are frequently in a crisis situation.
We believe that God reveals Himself in the longings and aspirations of the human heart on such occasions. Therefore, we commit ourselves to being aware of this and to enabling the person to understand the experience, and to move on with greater peace, purpose and wholeness.
