Pastoral care at Lottie Stewart Hospital involves all staff and volunteers who seek to provide quality care in a Christian environment. A variety of services offered by the Pastoral Care Department are co-ordinated by the Director and Hospital Chaplain who is an ordained minister of the Uniting Church of Australia. The Chapel is open at all times for private prayer and meditation. Services of Worshippatients, residents, visitors and staff are welcome at all times. Arrangements can be made for assistance to and from the Chapel if desired. Sunday: Special ServicesAt times to be announced and advertised throughout the hospital:
Holy CommunionThe Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated in all Sunday services. Following the Sunday Chapel service, Holy Communion is offered and provided to patients, residents and staff who have been unable to attend. Holy Communion is available upon request at other times. The ChaplainThe Chaplain is available to assist with personal counselling, guidance and support for:
Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Courses 2002Basic and advanced level courses, part time, will be offered at Lottie Stewart Hospital, Dundas in association with the Pastoral unit of Royal North Shore Hospital, St Leonards. Courses will commence in February and July with the possibility of additional courses (including an evening course) depending on demand. Clinical Pastoral Education Courses are accredited by the NSW College of Clinical Pastoral Education Inc. Academic credits can be gained from CPE Units towards Diplomas, Bachelor & Masters Awards through most theological institutions. Applications are invited from persons who are interested in pastoral care and ministry. These persons may be in paid or voluntary employment or those who seek to follow an interest in developing their personal growth and pastoral skills.
