Trauma Week

28 February - 4 March 2005

Trauma Week will be held at Westmead Hospital, and represents the first time a major trauma centre has opened its doors to the public. The aim is to educate and increase awareness of all areas of trauma care, particularly targeting high-risk groups. There will be special sessions on safety for children, the elderly, industrial accidents and high school students.

The Motor Accidents Authority of NSW (MAA) is a major sponsor of 2005 Trauma Week.  The MAA sees this sponsorship as a great fit with their core business - playing a leading role in funding and supporting acute care, treatment, rehabilitation and other services for people injured in a motor accident - many of which involve initial treatment by the Trauma Service.
