Multidisciplinary Trauma Rounds

Three times a week the trauma service conducts multidisciplinary rounds with all professions involved in the care of the injured patient (surgeons, intensivists, nurses, occupational therapists, rehabilitation specialists) to bring together all aspects of trauma care to the individual patients bedside. Any issues or deficiencies identified in patient care are recorded and referred to our audit meeting to be addressed and remedied.

The Trauma Service coordinates the activities of all specialties ensuring the best of care is delivered and the highest standards maintained. Patients and their families are involved in these rounds and are given the opportunity of asking any questions regarding their care and expressing any concerns they may have.

Patients are also encouraged to complete a Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire before discharge and are also given a Trauma Service business card with all contact numbers that they may need once home.
