Ambulatory Procedures Centre (APC):
Endoscopy and Day Surgery Centre

Patients and their families will benefit from a new ‘one stop shop' day surgery service at Westmead.

The new centre, called the Ambulatory Procedures Centre (APC), has been specially designed and built to deliver high quality day-only procedures in a comfortable, patient-friendly environment.

It includes a day surgery operating suite, endoscopy suite, recovery areas, a pre-admission clinic and other services.

The APC will offer a new standard of patient comfort and care.

The improved service, in a new, purpose-built facility, will streamline the way we manage day-only patients, so patient treatment will be better organised and delivered.

The centre has been created to meet the growing demand for day-only procedures that reduce the time spent in hospital, eliminate the need for overnight stays and have less impact on work and family life.

The centre is one of the first major projects to be completed as part of the WIN Program, a major redevelopment of health care services and facilities at Westmead Hospital.
